In STEM Students Create Winning Invention, the students created a small generator with enough power to turn on a small light. The invention could potentially help pay some big dividends for the group that invented this generator. Their wind-powered generator won the state competition in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest which had an ultimate prize of $200,00. They are taking a real problem and trying to fix it and it really shows these kids the need to be creative and active in helping the world. It gives them a real chance to show what they can do and how they can work with others from different cultures and religions. I believe that these students learned a lot from this project and were able to think more in depth for great purposes.
Geniuses are people who are not necessarily genetically a genius but their brain can take in more info than a regular person and they learn at an excelled rate. A genius is both born and learned throughout time and ages. We all take in different information and break problems down different ways. Geniuses tend to think different and less obvious solutions that no one would intentionally think of.
Ken Robinson"s TED talk about education has a lot of very good points about changing America's education today. Kids don't learn and get easily bored for learning about stuff that will only be helpful to pass a test and than soon forgotten afterwards. I believe that would should follow what Ken said during his TED talk. We should focus more on the people's education individually and not all as a whole. People today are no where near the same and we all need a different education system to fully learn in today's society.
The author of "How Geniuses Think," his interpretation of Genius is that geniuses think of multiple ways to solve a problem or to come up with a solution. They think beyond a normal person's level of thinking. Some of the strategies they use is making their thoughts visible and creating different diagrams or models to visibly see what could work and not work. They also will keep trying different methods and will keep failing until they succeed. Thomas Edison once said " I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." I will be adding this method into my site by coming up with different ways to learn and show you how to make yourself a better athlete or to stay in better shape through different multiple ways.
Everyone is going to fail in life at things here and there but to truly learn from failure depends on your attitude. We can either get upset or mad that we failed or we can strive off of failure and make ourselves greater than before. Failure teaches us patience and also teaches us how we need to be strong in order to keep moving forward. This will apply in everyday life, getting back up after you have failed and starting anew. When you train or are training someone it may be tough to keep fighting and trying not to fail, but those who truly want to learn and become great fail over and over until they succeed! "I missed more than 9000 shots in my career. 26 times i was trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." -Michael Jordan
In the months of October, November, and December i intend to finish remodeling my page and have various materials on athletic training. I plan to give information about different muscles, different systems that are in our body, and how exactly they all work in making us live. I will provide different website links and books for you if you would like to learn even more!
